I created Jolie Designs several years ago as a way to avoid going back to work in an office after my boys were born. Much to my surprise, I found I had a love for sewing and creating with beautiful fabric. Currently, I make purses, tote bags, diaper bags, scarves, napkins, and quilts–some of which can be found at The Wooden Cow Gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The inspiration for Jolie Designs (and the model for the Jolie Girl logo), came from my sister, Jolie Simmons Wingo, who died in 1997 at the age of 24. I continually look for ways to honor and celebrateĀ Jolie’s memory–what could be more perfect than pretty handbags bearing her name?
Jolie lost her life to leukemia–leaving behind a husband andĀ 1-year-old daughter. Visit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for ways you can help with the fight against blood cancers!
